To Reflect or Not Reflect? Duh! Reflect, the ¡Nadj! 🧲❤️πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ” Way!

Reflections a la Nadj, SCAW!

As a general guide to reflections in all assessment items and any works that the students complete in my classes the student adhere to the following SCAW scheme.

  • Summarize πŸ™‚: Summarize what you have read, viewed, and learned while making sure that your summary is short and sweet.
  • Connect/Cite πŸ˜: Connect what you learned/read/viewed to the arts, your other areas of learning, and/or to your job or anything that you care about!
  • Apply πŸ˜Ž: Provide real life applications of what you learned/read/viewed.
  • Wonder(ism)/Probe Deeper/Question πŸ€”: Ask astute thoughtful questions that demonstrate you have probed and engaged in the learning/reading/viewing process as deeply as possible.

Following are examples of such reflections by students in all my various classes, HS Physix, HS Astronomy, HS Forensic Science, 2YC Physix, and Physical Science for Elementary Teachers.
